Project Description:

Our work stream for Sainsbury's Local Convenience stores typically fall into the following three catogories.

  • Acquisition Projects
  • Developer Shell Projects
  • Refurbishment Projects

Acquisition Projects

  • Acquisition projects typically range from £500K to £650K in value, depending on the amount of abnormal works required.  The maximum value of an acquisition would be £1M.
  • Project duration is from 5 to 14 weeks depending on the scope of works including; asbestos removal, demolition, superstructure alterations and external works.
  • Acquisition project can often have a short lead-in period, as once contracts for the site have been exchanged, the Client wants to open the store ASAP to trading as soon as possible.

Developer Shell Projects

  • Developer Shell projects range from £400K to £500K, depending on the size of the store.
  • A standard model fit out rate is applied to the stores, which in conjunction with our contractor model rates, allows a competitive out-turn cost.
  • The key to minimising potential risks within developer shell projects is agreeing the deal with the landlord early in their building programme to allow them to comply with Sainsbury's developers brief thereby giving greater certainity to our client.

Refurbishment Projects

  • Refurbishment projects range from £100K to £450K, depending on the scope for works and dilapidated nature of the site.
  • Refurbishment projects are co-ordinated out of hours to minimise customer disruption and reduce shut-down period.
