Project Descriptions:
New Maintenance Building
Construction of a single storey centre for college maintenance staff, incorporating relocation of the college substation with switch gear.
Facilities included; staff area with showers, offices, building trade stores and machinery garage. As the construction was amongst trees and next to a conservation route, the building was constructed using a timber frame and a 'green sedum' roof.
The project was part of 4 contracts that were let to one contractor and was carried out using a traditional single stage tendering procedure, using standard JCT with quantities.
New Changing Rooms on Thatched Pavilion
Restoration and refurbishment of existing thatched pavilion, including the construction of new changing rooms on the existing site. This project was procured using a traditional single stage tendering procedure using standard JCT without quantities.
Refurbishment of existing listed building
Refurbishment of 85 student flats to provide ensuite facilities to each room. Work included replacement of windows, roof coverings and cleaning of brickwork.
Relocated Bar and Music Practice Rooms
Relocation of the student bar from the first floor to the ground floor. This enabled the first floor to become a conference room/ party area with a sub bar. The listed building also included refurbishment of the music practice rooms together with the provision of a lift and external ramp. In accordance to the DDA requirements adjustments were also made to the stairs.

Restoration and Re-decoration to Chapel
Restoration and re-decoration work with new electrical and lighting system to college chapel. Works included redecoration including stripping of wall coating and stone painted areas, installation of new lighting system to suit illumination of pictures and choir stall. The project was part of 4 contracts that were let to one contractor and was carried out using a traditional single stage tendering procedure using standard JCT without quantities.
