Project Description:
In March 2010 Henry Riley was appointed by Dreams to undertake a review of the tendering procedure for their National roll-out programme and establish a schedule of rates for generic works on new build projects. As our relationship developed, Dreams requested cost consultancy services for all new build schemes, from inception through to final account settlement.
Our role consists of; attending and assisting the client during the cost surveys;reviewing and challenging contractors cost returns over site specifics and abnormals; compilation of cost packs for the client including directs and fees; and finally issuing the completed documents to the client for board approval.
Our post contract duties involve overseeing the variation order procedure and managing change, whilst providing value engineering initiatives and cost advice to the client during the project. In addition we provide anticipated final expenditure reports for client review.
After completion of each scheme we then progress negotiations and agreement of final accounts with the alliance contractors and present the client with project specific cost reconciliations. These allow Dreams to internally review Capex budgets and address allocation of construction spends for future projects.
