Overview of Works
On 1st October 2006 the Birkenhead and Wallasey Primary Care Trust merged with Bebington and West Wirral Primary Care Trust to form Wirral PCT, the new PCT for Wirral.
Wirral PCT provide a wide range of services to an area that has a population of approximately 335,000.
Project Descriptions:
We have carried out a range of projects providing cost consultancy and project management services. These include:
U&V Block Works, St Catherine's Hospital, Birkenhead
Works included, service diversions, client directs, demolition of existing buildings and site clearance works to all for the construction of a new car park.
Due to the close proximity of the site to an everyday running hospital all Health and Safety aspects of the project were particularly complex and included a detailed analysis of asbestos. These required a high degree of management and consultation/liaison with the representatives Trust.
Chimney Demolition, St Catherine's Hospital, Birkenhead
Works included, service diversions, client directs and demolition of an existing chimney. As the chimneys location was close to St Catherine's hospital Health and Safety aspects of the project were a major priority and included a detailed analysis of asbestos hazards.
Wards 6&7 Demolition Works, Victoria Central Hospital, Birkenhead
The wards were demolished to ground level and all materials arising from the demolition were removed from site. The demolition was carried out in such manner as to cause the least possible inconvenience to adjoining buildings or the public. In addition to a type 3 asbestos survey, Health & Safety considerations were a major consideration.
