Project Description

Various projects have been completed for food stores ranging from 4,500 sq ft to 21,000 sq ft.

Various Furniture Store Projects

The refurbishment and new build furniture stores cover an approximate area of 30,000 sq ft.

Westgate Department Store, Peterborough

The programme involved the refurbishment and alterations to a department store with a total floor area of 100,000 sq ft. The development was phased over four years to accommodate the client's wish to optimise trading throughout the process.  The existing building required extensive modernisation and replacement of M&E services, which absorbed a large proportion of the available budget.

To enable the budget to be increased within the parameters dictated by the client's business case, a life cycle cost exercise was undertaken.  The client was assisted during the briefing development stages by the use of functional value management techniques, so that the final brief aligned with their business plan drivers.

Early enabling works contracts were commissioned for roof and parapet wall repairs, asbestos removal works and replacement of mechanical plant at the end of its useful life.

Phase 1 of this project was completed at the end of 2006.  A revised Phase 2 was completed in December 2008.  All other phases are currently on hold.
